Droopy is an anthropomorphic Basset Hound often with a miserable look on his face, originally introduced in the Tex Avery shorts of the 1940s. He made his debut in the 1943 cartoon Dumb-Hounded. Since then, he has appeared in numerous Tom and Jerry projects including Tom and Jerry Kids, in which he has a son named Dripple.
